My youngest son Saif became a father for the first time and Zaira Saif Shakir is his daughter , the prettiest Shakir in our family ..

And my son is not a big fan of photographym, but ever sine her birth he borrows my camera and shoots her to the demands of his vision , he is new to photography and the much heavier Canon EOS 7D ..

My elder son , father of Marziya Shakir and Nerjis Asif Shakir can shoot pictures but is not a great fan of photography either.

Marziyas mother shoots her children on the mobile phone camera..

We have just one camera and that belongs to Marziya Shakir on loan to me..

My son in law Assad loves to shoot Arty pictures on my camera .. and all three grand kids love him..

My daughter is a showoff with the camera I have not seen what she shoots .. she is into scial media.

Marziya Shakir can handle the Canon EOS 7D with vertical grop , she feels no weight and mind you she is frail but like inner vision she has inner strength too.

All these pictures of Zaira Saif Shakir were shot by her dad with no inputs from me.. point and shoot .. mind over matter

Sometimes I Think My Wife Is a Better Photographer Than Me

we both are chips of the same blog

Grand Pa Dont Tell Them I Am a Street Photographer

Zaira Saif Shakir Will Be a Street Photographer Too ..

All my grand children have been baptized by a miniature camera at birth, but Zaira just kicked it away , her way of saying she was not interested..and so I have not pushed the camera into her life like the other two photographers at home Marziya Shakir 4 years old and Nerjis Asif Shakir 8 month old..

Though Zaira Saif Shakrs website on Blogspot hails her as street photographer I did not want her to be left out.

And I have really not spent much time with Zaira , and Zaira loves me madly..the prettiest Shakir in our family..

Zaira Saif Shakir My Third Grand Child

I got a comment on one of my pictures of a child with a broken hand at Google+ , a child I shot on impulse , I shoot most of my pictures on impulse that later or maybe even after several years when I freshen them up become poems , but mind you I shoot pictures as a poet.. and my stilted prose too is poetry..

I answered the persons comment and here I bring it to Flickr but not on the original picture but the picture of my youngest grand daughter Zaira Saif Shakir, I have not been very close to her , as I have been to my other two grand daughters Marziya Shakir and Nerjis Asif Shakir..daughters of my older son.

Marziya Shakir was my first grand child I lavished her with every gift including the art of poetry that I call photography, she shoots street pictures from the age of 2 , I showed her what no parent would , I showed her poverty , the slums the world of animals , and other values I showed her the hijra eunuch community that I shoot and showcase.. I left nothing ..she shoots like me on impulse.

She is 4 years old studying in Junior KG in a convent school.

Than came Nerjis Asif her sister I launched her on Google+ within hours of her birth on the first day, but I did not shoot her the way I shot Marziya Shakir over 12 000 images or more of her at Flickr in a set.

I also compiled a set of pictures she has shot that generates a lot of views and she browses them.. and calls it Marziya.com.

However with Nerjis Asif Shakir I had to bring all adventures of the stret to a Stop , simply because she was diagnosed with a very serious dangerous illness , no pets , and total seclusion , we all wash our hands before we touch her , and though she looks tough she is very fragile..I decided to teach her photography she is 8 month old on the Canon EOS 7D.

The first lessons are bearing fruit she loves the camera , drools over it and I make it a point every picture I shoot I show it to her on the monitor and the laptop..she is a Malang like me with a gifted sense of perception..when she fell ill I disabled view of her website her pictures.. you cant see most of them.

She has valiantly fought her illness recovered and her story continues ..

Now the prettiest Shakir in the picture Zaira Saif Shakir , she loves me and I am trying to get both Nerjis and Zaira to bond a very tough task both share a sibling rivalry for my love.. but I am trying .

I am a recuse I come from work I play with my grand kids type with one finger blog and share my Flickr imagery at Google+..

So now on this post I copy my comment of the Muslim child with the broken hand .. so it lives as a blog post too..

The comment from a Google+friend

+Firoze Shakir Many of the photos you share disturb me a great deal. You're documenting a world of extremes and violence in everyday reality. I don't understand the images and, as a photojournalist myself for many years, I keep you in a circle because I'm learning from you....but I don't really know what I'm learning. This image of this child makes me feel very sad. And it makes me wonder what in the hell is going on around him...

My reply in humility and gratitude..

Please if you think my pictures are for titillation ,, or for promoting hate ill will remove me from your Circle..

I will not take that against you as you added me in good faith..I shot this child on impulse ,near a tailoring workshop where I come to give work, it is not a slum but a mini Muslim ghetto..I saw him playing by himself I asked a lady presuming her to be his mother , what had happened to his hand, she just said matter of factly he fell broke his arm..

I was saddened I have 3 grand kids and extreme care is taken at all times they are more precious than our own lives ...but than I also realized a child imbibes his surroundings the squalor the habitat..

Now that you have made this post an issue in a certain kind of way I will try to get at the bottom of his story.. as you see it as a photo journalist I shoot and relive pain as a poet.. a street poet and street photographer..

If you saw my picture of a drunk mother and her child on the street you will know what I mean, I shoot I move on .. I shoot without asking questions I shoot jigsaw puzzles of life and it hurts me as it hurts the viewer too..

I dont shoot anything that would hurt sense or sensibility I shoot to awaken the comatose soul of human consciousness in my society.. not yours , you guys are more lucky than us but you have earned it we are trying..

And this comment is by itself a blog post..

Take Care Peace

See My Grandfather Loves Her More Than Me ..

Nerjis Asif Shakir loves
biting my nose
pulling my sparsely hair
caught in her snare
we both are malangs
an unusual pair
while zaira watches
us as she stares
for a grandfather
she loves and cares

Two Malangs and Zaira Saif Shakir

Both Nerjis Asif Shakir and me are Malangs, we live our dreams we connect without words,..and Nerjis Asif Shakir understands me the best among all my 3 grand daughters , and both Nerjis and Zaira scourged their backs with blades during Moharam.... the very same day of Athvi I cut my head with a sharp dagger the third time ..in memory of Imam Hussain our revered Saint and grandson of the Holy Prophet.

And if my grand kids were boys they would cut their heads too like but not that viciously.. we are Shia Muslim adherents and proud of our ancestry heritage and Faith..

A Short Story Behind These Pictures

228,062 items / 1,910,139 views

At my house everyone is a photographer , but though I am the patriarch of photography iin my house the benchmark and standard of our photography, is a white American Brooklyn born Jew , he is our extended family, we had no choice we had to adopt him as he is guru of Marziya Shakir the missing grand daughter in these pictures ,,he blessed , taught Marziya Shakir to encapsulate the world through the eye of the camera....so it is Dr Glenn Losack who is the hidden cause of our love for the camera.. and he loves Nerjis a lot..when Nerjis was seriously ill it was Glenn who kept our hopes alive , he gave us strength , he was certain and sure she would recover.. she has done fighting an illness that had become a bane of our lives.

Who shot these pictures like he was shooting in movie mode..not Marziya not my wife , nor my sons or their wives , nor my daughter , but my son nonetheless the husband of my daughter , Assad Dadan..he too is an avid photographer , an animator he loves to shoot my grand kids and here again after me as a photographer it is Nerjis who considers him a better photographer than me...the little chipmunk, ,,and of late because of her sickness I had hidden her pictures from public view ..

Now Zaira Saif Shakir is actually the reason why Asaad went on shooting us , because Zairas maternal grand father was in hospital, for over 10 days and Zaira was living with her mothers family in town..I missed her a lot and she had just returned hence we all wanted a bit of her as a memory..

Assad teaches Photoshop at a premium photo film institute... but he hurt me when he said he had deleted his Google+ account , he is a hardbound hardcore Facebook denizen..and me both my grand daughters Marziya Shakir and Nerjis Asif Shakir are only on Google+

Nerjis Asif Shakir is the original Google+kid she gave birth and from the maternity word landed on Google+ without an Invitation from Vic Gundotra.she was only one day old...the youngest blogger on cyberspace with her own Google+account..

And Nerjis Asif Shakir 8 month old is learning photography assisted by me on the Canon EOS 7D..

Please dont underestimate out Indian kids , not only can they shoot mountains they can move mountains too.. they have more faith than that hidden in the body of the camera.
